This is an adventure for those looking to get an experience out of the beaten track and escape to a place in Peru that has changed little over the past 500 years a visit to this rich pastoral regions of the Cordillera of Urubamba is a need for this route offers an insight into the daily lives of Andean farmers, their traditional brightly colored ponchos, being a remote area has preserved its traditions.

Itinerary: Lares trek 4 days

Day 1.-CUSCO – CALCA – LARES – CUNCANI.

Pick up our passengers from their hotels at 5:00 am to begin our adventure through the Sacred Valley of the Incas in our transport, during the trip we can appreciate the majestic Sacred Valley with its fertile lands, then we arrive to the town of Calca (2940m.a.s.l) then visit small villages Maucaupata. Finally, after a journey of approx. 4 hours we arrive at Lares (3,200 meters) to visit the thermal baths for a refreshing bath. After lunch after contacting our horsemen began the walk arriving at our first camp in 4 hours and always at the beautiful scenery offered by this wonderful little town Wacawasi (3600 m)

DAY 2.-IPSAYCOCHA- CUNCANI – PATACANCHA.

This day will be a little tired but will be well rewarded because it will be a mixture of beautiful scenery and culture of the villages through which we will step, early in the morning, after  the breakfast, we started our walk going to our second camp, this day started early as we ascend through the open Ipsay appreciate the way in different rural communities so different customs and they weave textiles for everyday use. Reach the lagoon Ipsaycocha  where lunch will be sure to take many pictures of this beautiful place, after a nap continue to the town of Patacancha where we spend the second night.

DAY 3. – PATACANCHA-WILLOQ-OLLANTAYTAMBO.

After breakfast we continue our trek to the small village of people with original customs Willoq also pass small villages in the course of our walk we can see the archaeological remains and Pumamarca Qochapata to see the famous Inca terraces, estimated at 2: 00pm arrive at the town of Ollantaytambo, located along the Vilcanota River, a fertile valley, the ancient Inca village is considered one of the most important living museums in the world after lunch we have free time until 7:30 pm after which we will address Train to Aguas Calientes we spend our last night in a hostel with private bathroom and hot water.

DAY 4. – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Depart early to walk the Inca city of Machu Picchu to see the sunrise and then take the guided tour around the sanctuary, about 2:30 minutes. After which we will have time to stroll around the archaeological site and why not also for the town of Aguas Calientes, where we can enjoy the medicinal waters and later take the train back to Cusco.

  • Sleeping bag. (If you do not have one, rent one at the office).
  • Warm clothes for the first day.
  • Light clothes
  • Good shoes or boots.
  • Bottle of water.
  • Camera or video camera (optional).
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent.
  • Purifying pills.
